Steel plastic geogrid, also known as steel-plastic composite geogrid, is a high-strength strip that uses a special process to coat high-strength steel wire with high-density polyethylene and other additives. The planes are vertically and horizontally staggered to be woven or sandwiched at a certain distance, and the geosynthetics formed by ultrasonic fusion welding technology can be made into different mesh diameters and the number of steel wires to change the tensile force of the rib according to the needs of the project. The steel plastic geogrid has the advantages of durability, high strength and strong bearing capacity, and can produce extremely high tensile modulus under a certain strain capacity. With its high friction coefficient and bearing capacity, the steel-plastic geogrid can effectively improve the interlocking and occlusal bearing capacity of the foundation, effectively restrain the lateral displacement of the soil, and enhance the stability of the foundation. At the same time, the steel-plastic composite geogrid is also beneficial to the upper load and evenly distributed to the underlying soft soil. The steel plastic geogrid can even absorb high-strength vibration energy, and is widely used in the reinforcement of retaining walls, slopes, roads, Railway, highway, bridge abutment and other engineering projects.

ISSUE

BPM Australia customer found us on Facebook and sent us an inquiry for a steel plastic geogrid. They had a project for road construction. Customers provided technical specifications and pictures, according to the analysis of the technical sheet provided by them, corresponding to our steel-plastic geogrid BPM30-30, the specification is 3.95mx100m, which is our regular export specification, and we provide samples in April 2022 according to customer requirements. After the customer receives the sample, it is tested, it is determined that it is the desired product and the order is placed.

SOLUTION

Steel plastic geogrid are made from high strength steel coated with virgin polyethylene or high density polyethylene by special ultrasonic welding and composite processing technology through a complex knitting process to provide superior engineering and long-term design strength properties. BPM warp knitted polyester geogrids are designed for increased tensile reinforcement in two main directions. Our Steel plastic geogrid is engineered to be mechanically and chemically stable and biologically unaffected by soil microorganisms. It is used in harsh construction installation stages and soil reinforcement applications, where strength is developed as a single axis, providing further chemical, mechanical and UV protection.

The railway subgrade is a structure that bears and transmits the gravity of the track and the power of the train. It is the foundation of the track and an important building to ensure the operation of the train. Embankments are earth-rock structures located in a variety of geomorphological, geological, hydrological and climatic environments. It sometimes suffers from various disasters such as floods, mudslides, landslides and earthquakes. In order to strengthen the railway subgrade, geogrids are widely used in the construction of highway and railway subgrades, and have achieved good results.

The commonly used geogrid fabrics for railway roadbed reinforcement include biaxially oriented plastic geogrids and polyester geogrids. These two materials have the characteristics of high tensile strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, light weight, easy construction, aging resistance, and cement, soil and crushed materials. The sheet plactic geogrid fabric is suitable for all kinds of roadbeds, roadbed reinforcement, slope protection, cave wall reinforcement, foundation reinforcement of large airports, parking lots, dock yards, etc. It can be used for railways, highways and roads. It is widely used in airstrips and coal mines, metallurgy, water conservancy and so on.

Benefit

The Steel plastic geogrid geogrid fabric is often made of high-strength industrial polyester or polypropylene filament fibers, and is made by warp knitting and directional structure composite weaving process. The warp fiber yarns in the warp-knitted biaxial geogrid have strong bonding points and have excellent mechanical properties and long-term strength stability. Polyester geogrid has the characteristics of high tensile strength, small elongation force, strong reinforcement ability, high tear resistance, balanced longitudinal and transverse strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, light weight, etc. It can effectively lock soil or gravel, greatly enhancing the Shear resistance and overall stability of the soil. The warp-knitted biaxial steel plastic geogrid is widely used in the treatment of soft soil foundations of roads, railways, municipalities, etc., as well as the reinforcement and protection of roadbeds, embankments and other projects.
