The geogrid fabric mainly stretches the polymer material to form an open-cell network, and then becomes a high-strength flat mesh material. The raw materials of the plastic geogrid are high-density, high molecular polymers, etc., and anti-ultraviolet additives are added to form the geogrid through processes such as extrusion, stretching and hot melting. In the process of manufacturing geogrid, it is necessary to align the molecules of the polymer in the stretching direction through directional stretching, so as to improve the bonding force between the molecules of the polymer. The geogrid has the characteristics of small deformation, light weight, strong tensile resistance, and has the properties of anti-aging and corrosion resistance. Therefore, the geogrid can be used as a reinforcing material and is widely used in the field of engineering construction, especially in the construction of asphalt geogrid pavements.

Thai customers purchased 38,000 square meters of polyester warp-knitted asphalt geogrid from us through the official BPM website. The specifications are 100KN/30KN. According to the customer’s construction site data, we recommended a size of 4*100m for customers to facilitate their construction, installation and transportation. The warp-knitted geogrid has a shorter appearance time, and its raw material strength is higher. The biaxial warp knitting network is woven through the warp and weft biaxial, and then the soil layer is impregnated with PVC for treatment. Main Functions of Asphalt Geogrid Fabric

First, the biaxial geogrid fabric can improve the high-temperature anti-rutting ability of the asphalt concrete pavement. Under the influence of many factors, the high-temperature stability of the asphalt mixture is likely to be reduced, and rutting occurs-this will affect the comfort of driving, and in serious cases, there may even be hidden dangers to traffic safety. The application of geogrid fabric in asphalt concrete pavement can improve the supporting capacity of asphalt concrete pavement, thereby adding a layer of protection for traffic safety. In addition, adding a geogrid fabric to the asphalt mixture can enhance the bearing capacity of the asphalt concrete pavement, and the geogrid fabric acts as an independent anchor point to limit the displacement of the aggregate, making the asphalt mixture interact with the grid. The asphalt geogrid is of great significance to improve the stability of the mineral skeleton.

Second, the geogrid fabric can delay the occurrence of cracks in the asphalt concrete pavement. The tensile strength of the plastic in the geogrid fabric is relatively high. Adding these mixtures to the asphalt concrete structural layer can improve the strength of the pavement material and enhance its performance. When the geogrid fabric is laid, the expansion angle of the cracks can be increased and the appearance of the cracks can be delayed.

Third, the geogrid fabric can reduce the thickness of the asphalt layer. When the geogrid fabric is laid on the asphalt concrete pavement, the stress distribution of the pavement structure is changed. Under the influence of the geogrid fabric, the tensile stress of the asphalt concrete mixture can be reduced, thereby enhancing the fatigue resistance of the asphalt pavement and delaying the asphalt concrete cracks in the road surface appeared. The use of asphalt geogrid in the construction of asphalt concrete pavement can reduce the thickness of asphalt by 5cm to 10cm, which plays an important role in reducing the amount of asphalt mixture.
